Operations Analyst – Hedge Fund – Jersey

Are you a part-qualified accountant working in audit or fund administration and ready for something more dynamic?

Do you want to move closer to trading and markets while continuing your professional qualification?

Would you thrive in a hedge fund environment where your work has real-time impact?

Our client is a growing, Quant hedge fund based in Jersey, seeking an Operations Analyst to support both Trading Operations and Finance. This is a hands-on role offering direct exposure to trading activity, fund operations and control frameworks within a live investment environment.

This opportunity is specifically designed for someone who has started their professional qualification (ACA / ACCA / CIMA) and wants to complete it in a more commercial, fast-paced setting, moving away from pure audit or back-office accounting.

Working alongside experienced operators, you’ll gain exposure to how trades flow through the system, how performance is validated and how operational controls underpin a systematic trading strategy.

What the role will involve

  • Monitoring daily trade flows across futures, FX, swaps and listed derivatives
  • Performing trade capture, reconciliation and break resolution with brokers and clearing firms
  • Supporting daily P&L validation and independent performance checks
  • Monitoring margin utilisation, collateral balances and cash movements
  • Assisting with position, exposure and risk reporting
  • Supporting NAV reviews and fund administrator oversight
  • Assisting with invoice processing, expense reconciliation and audit support
  • Contributing to control frameworks, ISO documentation, and operational risk processes

Who this role will suit

This role is well suited to a part-qualified or nearly qualified accountant (ACA / ACCA / CIMA) currently in audit, fund administration or a finance role, who is looking to move into a more engaging and commercially relevant environment.

You’ll likely bring:

  • Strong attention to detail and numerical confidence
  • A solid grounding in accounting principles and financial controls
  • An interest in trading, markets and how investment strategies operate
  • A structured, methodical approach with the ability to work under time pressure
  • Confidence liaising with internal stakeholders, brokers and service providers
  • A genuine desire to move closer to the trading environment while continuing your qualification

This is a rare opportunity to step out of a traditional accounting pathway and into the engine room of a hedge fund, while still completing your qualification and building highly transferable experience.

For the right individual, this role offers meaningful responsibility, technical development and long-term progression within a high-quality hedge fund platform.
