Our client, a locally based hedge fund, is seeking a Junior Developer to join their core technology and trading systems team. You’ll be working at the intersection of trading and software; building, maintaining and evolving the proprietary systems that drive their strategies.

You’ll collaborate closely with quantitative developers and traders, helping to design and implement robust solutions for real-world trading challenges. The role offers exposure to the full development cycle; from understanding business requirements to seeing your work in production, and the satisfaction of knowing your contributions make a measurable difference to performance.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and develop software solutions within a proprietary trading stack
• Collaborate with senior developers to translate business needs into technical outputs
• Support production systems and respond to live trading events when required
• Write clean, efficient, and well-documented code
• Communicate progress, issues and ideas clearly to management and peers

About You

• Degree (2:1 or higher) in Maths, Physics, Computer Science, Engineering or related field
• Strong coding ability (C# ideal, but open to Python, Java, or similar)
• A logical, analytical thinker with an inquiring mind
• Calm, dependable and comfortable working alongside diverse personalities
• Experience in or at least curious about financial markets and how technology powers trading strategies
