About the Role:
We are seeking a strategic and experienced Head of Bid Management to lead and scale our client’s bid management function, focused on the CCaaS/SaaS sector. With a dual focus on UK public and private sector procurement, you’ll bring a keen eye for detail and an understanding of government frameworks, whilst working to enhance our visibility and success in private sector RFPs. You’ll join a fully remote team, working from anywhere, and report directly to the Chief Revenue Officer, with a key mission to improve our bid conversion rate and strategically expand into the private sector.
This role demands a leader who combines hands-on experience in enterprise tech / SAAS/ IT / Software procurement with a vision for team development. You’ll shape the bid strategy, coordinate cross-functional input, and refine each proposal to ensure every RFP captures our value and expertise whilst adapting to the needs of each individual client.
Key Responsibilities:
– Bid Strategy & Execution: Manage and refine the entire bid process from start to finish, coordinating with internal teams to meet RFP requirements, timelines, and quality standards.
– Team Leadership: Roll up your sleeves initially while developing a dedicated bid team over time, ensuring workload is manageable and efficient.
– Public Sector Procurement: Leverage your deep knowledge of UK public sector frameworks to improve win rates and foster relationships with key public stakeholders across central government, regulators, local government, NHS, and many more.
– Private Sector Expansion: Identify and develop private sector bid opportunities to help further diversify our client base. Build relationships and a pipeline of targeted opportunities in sectors such as insurance, ecommerce, business process outsourcing, and travel.
– Revenue Optimization: Contribute to smashing recurring revenue targets, ensuring bid processes align with company growth objectives.
– Cross-Functional Collaboration: Collaborate closely with sales, product, and solutions delivery teams to ensure bids reflect our solutions and meet client requirements.
Ideal Candidate Profile:
– Experience: Significant experience managing formal procurement within enterprise technology, telecommunications, software, IT or anything similar, with public sector exposure in the UK being of paramount importance.
– Skills: Strong grasp of public sector RFP requirements, alongside the ability to drive private sector bid success.
– Analytical: Ability to interpret and adapt bid content based on client requirements, ensuring alignment with the business’s unique strengths.
– Communication & Language: Exceptional English language skills with the ability to understand and emphasize the nuanced needs of each client.
– Leadership: Ready to build and mentor a bid management team, initially taking a hands-on role and growing into a strategic leader.
Compensation & Benefits:
– Base Salary: Highly Competitive – to be discussed depending on experience level
– Bonus: 50% commission (on-target earnings, strong opportunity to outperform)
