Our client, a dynamic and rapidly growing financial services business with exceptional backing, is looking to appoint a Chief Information Officer (CIO) in a new role. With over 180 employees across Jersey and Guernsey (up 200% in the last year) this organisation is undergoing exciting transformation and is now completing the final piece of a newly appointed Executive Committee.
The Opportunity
Reporting directly to the CEO and working closely with a visionary Chairman and an energetic C-suite, you will lead the company’s digital, data and technology strategy. This is a unique opportunity to build and own the IT agenda end-to-end in an environment that embraces innovation, automation, and AI.
Key Responsibilities
- Define and deliver the overall technology, data, and digital strategy.
- Drive a scalable, secure, and resilient IT infrastructure to support continued growth.
- Modernise systems and processes, with a clear focus on automation, AI, and cloud transformation.
- Champion digital innovation to enhance the customer experience and operational efficiency.
- Lead and develop IT and change teams (currently c.12 across Jersey and Guernsey).
- Own cybersecurity, governance, vendor management and business continuity.
- Work collaboratively with ExCo members to ensure IT strategy aligns with commercial goals.
- Represent the function on the Executive Committee and key sub-committees.
Who We’re Looking For
We’re seeking someone who’s delivered tangible results; not from the sidelines, but from the front line. You’ve likely:
- Held senior tech leadership roles in a regulated financial services environment.
- Built and scaled IT infrastructure in a fast-growth or transformative business.
- Taken ownership of digital strategy, change delivery, and cybersecurity.
- Used automation and AI to improve services and decision-making.
- Been the strategic voice in the room; not just operationally strong, but visionary.
What You’ll Bring
- A track record of leading end-to-end IT transformation.
- Experience operating at Board or ExCo level; or demonstrable readiness to step up.
- Expertise across governance, risk, cybersecurity, and regulatory alignment.
- A hands-on leadership style with the ability to motivate and scale teams.
- A passion for using technology to deliver better customer outcomes.
